Sahayata Scholarship for engineering students in India

City-based NGO, Sahayata Trust is arranging entire tuition fee for B Tech students belonging to minority community The announcement came through a statement from the ‘Trust’ on Wednesday that said, “We will implement this initiative in collaboration with other government scholarships and Jahangirabad Institute of Technology located at Barabanki in Uttar Pradesh.”

According to Sahayata Trust CEO Syed Aneesuddin, “It has been decided to assist 100 girls and 50 boys. The beneficiaries will be selected through an online test. Students need to get at least 20 out of 50 marks in the online test to make themselves eligible for the financial assistance.”

"Our main aim is to provide quality education to minority students. We have searched many institutions in North India and selected Jahangirabad Institute of Technology,” he said.

Aneesudin said that the enrollment of students belonging to minority community in higher education is quite low. “While the primary factor is weak economic conditions, another big reason is inaccessibility to good colleges.

In this scenario, the Sahayata Trust wants to provide almost free education to boys who secured more than 85 per cent boys and girls who got 65 per cent and above marks by way of paying balance fee after adjusting scholarships to JIT,” he said.
